With the recent rise of COVID-19 outbreaks in the city, we have decided to CLOSE all of our Tokyo restaurants for the weekend, 28th and 29th.

Kyoto will remain open for the time being, and we do plan to open our Tokyo shops back up on Monday if the government does not announce any official regulations by then.

We will keep you updated on our social media and website.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to take the situation seriously.

This weekend is crucial in containing the virus, so please stay home and stay safe! And here is a message from our owner ↓

Hanami has always been an important ceremony in Japanese culture. When the trees blossom, the mountain gods are letting us know it is time to plant rice, and the farmers get to work. We thank them for providing food and pray for a good harvest.

To not celebrate this is heartbreaking for me, but as the government has advised, we must do what we can to prevent a massive spread of the virus.

Thus far, we had shortened our hours, lessened our staff, and offered discounts for take away, but this weekend is very important for everyone to stay home.

This is why I have made the decision to close our shops for the weekend.

My thoughts are with those suffering from this pandemic, their families, the healthcare workers.

I send my love and prayers for the safety of these people and our customers all over the world.

Tokyo has not declared a lock down, but it may be inevitable soon.

I look forward to the day when we can all sit around the same table and enjoy a delicious meal again.
